Dutchie POS has optional settings that can automatically create new customer profiles and check customers in when you scan their ID. Learn more in this article.
To manage check-in settings, navigate to Settings > Location in the Backoffice of Dutchie POS.

Auto check-in disabled
- Open Dutchie Register and click Scan ID.
- Scan the two-dimensional barcode on the back of the consumer or patient's identification.
- Once you're ready to check in the guest, click Check in and a success message will appear on the screen.
- Now the customer is available inside your guest list and you can proceed with your normal transactional workflows.
Auto-create profile disabled
- Open Dutchie Register and click Scan ID.
- Scan the two-dimensional barcode on the back of the consumer or patient's identification.
- Once the scan is verified a Pass or Fail indication will appear on the screen for both the DOB and I.D. expiration for the patient or consumer.
- Click Create New Profile to add this customer to your active customer list.

- Open Dutchie Register and click Scan ID.
- Scan the two-dimensional barcode on the back of the consumer or patient's identification.
- Once the scan is verified, a Pass or Fail indication will appear on the screen for both the DOB and I.D. expiration for the patient or consumer.
- Please note if any details fail for ID expiration or underage customer a pop-up will appear alerting you of these details before checking in the guest.
