Change customer type in an active cart in Dutchie Register
This article applies to Dutchie POS.
Dual-license operators may sometimes need to change the customer type in an active cart without reassigning a different customer profile. This is an optional feature that is disabled by default.
Enable changing customer type in cart
- Go to Settings > Location.
- Check the box for Change customer type in cart.
- Click Save.
Change customer type from cart
- In the cart, click Change next to the customer type.
- Choose the customer type you want to change to from the drop-down, and click Confirm.
Customer type is typically Medical or Recreational. You can also set a range of other customer types in Dutchie Backoffice. - The cart will refresh, and the customer type will change.
Fulfillment or unassigned items will remain in the cart. However, any other items added before the customer type change will no longer be in the cart after it refreshes.
What happens to items in the cart when the customer type is changed?
If any items are in the cart, you will see warning messages when changing customer type.
- If there are fulfillment items in the cart, they will remain in the cart when the customer type is changed, but you will need to re-assign them after the cart refreshes.
- All other items will be cleared from the cart when the customer type changes. You will need to re-add these items to the cart refreshes.
