This article is for Dynamic Delivery, or the "ice cream truck model," where delivery vehicles are stocked with popular items so drivers can receive and fulfill orders in the field. Drivers may also fulfill Dynamic Delivery orders using the regular Dutchie POS web application on a tablet or laptop
Mobile Checkout also supports standard (or "pizza-style") delivery operations where orders are received and fulfilled at a dispensary and then assigned to a driver and route. See Manage standard delivery orders in Mobile Checkout.
Using Mobile Checkout for Dynamic Delivery requires optional paid add-on features that require a contract update. Contact your CSM or Support for details.
Before you begin
Before you can accept and fulfill Dynamic Delivery orders, the configurations covered in the following articles should already be completed:
- Set up Dynamic Delivery in Dutchie POS
- Set up Dynamic Delivery in Dutchie E-Commerce
- Set up the Onfleet delivery integration in Dutchie POS
- Contact Dutchie Support if you would like to enable or disable drivers' ability to Add Items in Mobile Checkout or Remove Items in Mobile Checkout.
Go online and prepare to receive orders
- In a web browser, navigate to your Mobile Checkout URL. You can find this in the Backoffice under Delivery > Configure > Drivers > Select a driver > Mobile checkout URL.
- Sign in with your Dutchie POS username and password.
- Select the dispensary location.
- On the Select Register screen, choose the vehicle you're driving for the route.
- On the Select Route screen, tap the Scan Kit button.
- Scan the QR Code for your inventory kit to assign the inventory to yourself and your vehicle.
- Orders (Carts) are received and appear within your route. When you arrive at a customer's address, select their cart.
Order fulfillment
Depending on your configuration, drivers may fulfill orders on their own in Mobile Checkout, or a dispatcher may assign packages to a cart via the standard Dutchie Register. If a dispatcher is assigning packages, the driver should assemble the order according to the pre-assigned packages. Otherwise:
- Within a cart, tap the Items tab.
- Tap Scan barcode and use your device's camera to scan matching items.
- When you're ready to complete a delivery complete each task in the Action Required section:
- Confirm Date of Birth based on the date on the customer's ID.
- If required, tap Customer Signature to have the customer sign for the delivery on the screen (this works best if you rotate your device horizontally).
- If required, tap Take Photo to take a photo of the customer's ID.
- Collect payment.
- Optionally, tap Email Receipt.
- If integrated, the delivery task will be automatically completed in Onfleet, and the closed sale will be updated in Metrc.
View your delivery ledger
You can view a ledger on the Select Cart screen that shows all the items remaining in your inventory kit (Car Inventory) and the Sold Inventory from completed deliveries.
