Metrc has developed new functionality that will help Dutchie users operate more efficiently through elimination of additional labeling and strengthened inventory management practices. With Metrc Retail ID, vendors add QR codes to individual units, which allows Retailers to scan QR codes to receive inventory in the Dutchie Backoffice and scan barcodes at the register during checkout. Additionally, QR codes can be scanned to see product information including origin and potency, test results and certificates of analysis.
What is changing?
For retailers, Metrc Retail ID eliminates both relabeling and secondary labeling, acts as a barcode for checkout, and helps easily tie compliance reports to specific items. Retailers will receive inventory pre-stickered with QR codes, which can be scanned to receive inventory in Dutchie Backoffice and during a sales Dutchie Register.
Receive inventory
When you select a pending transfer, Dutchie POS automatically fetches the QR IDs from Metrc and makes them scannable in the Register. To receive inventory with QR codes:
- Navigate to Inventory: In Dutchie Backoffice, go to Products > Inventory.
- Initiate Receive: Click the Receive Inventory button.
- Select Manifest: Choose the relevant manifest from the Pending transfers dropdown.
- Identify retail ID packages: In the "Items received" section, items with a QR code icon next to the package indicate the package has Retail IDs.
- Complete Receiving: Once all items are scanned and show a green checkmark, click Receive.
Scan QR codes at the cart
Budtenders can scan Metrc QR codes or barcodes printed from Dutchie POS to add items to the cart. When a sale is complete, Dutchie sends a QR ID to Metrc.
- Select the customer card from the Guestlist page.
- Print applicable barcodes for the transaction.
- Scan each barcode to add the items into the Cart.
- Tap the Checkout button and complete the transaction as normal.
What do I need to do?
Go to Settings > Integrations > Metrc > Settings, set the following to Yes, and click Save.
- Use Metrc V2 (states that require Metrc V2 have this enabled by default and this option does not appear)
- Use Retail ID
Make sure inventory managers have the following user permissions:
- In Dutchie POS, enable the Manually Fetch QR IDs permission in the Integrations section.
- In Metrc, Product Labels should be set to Manage.
A 2D scanner is required to scan QR codes. Dutchie recommends these barcode scanners.
