Discounting below item cost or making cannabis items free

Problem

You have a discount set up that is not applying to the product and discounting below the wholesale cost as intended. 

For example you have a loyalty discount that you want to make an item free, your system won't allow you to discount below the cost of the item.

Solution

You may need to turn off one or both of the following settings. Note, however, that many states have regulations against discounting cannabis items below cost or making cannabis items free. Check your local regulations to ensure what you're trying to do is compliant, especially if you make the discount applicable to cannabis products.

1. Navigate to Settings > Location.
2. Un-check the boxes for:
   • Only Discount Cannabis Items to a minimum of $0.01 
   • Only Discount Items to their Cost
3. Click Save.
