Use packing lists to streamline and standardize the process of moving inventory between rooms in your facility, such as from back stock to the sales floor.
Things to know
Users must have the following user permissions to access these features:
- View Inventory Kits
- Edit Inventory Kits
- Create Tags
- Edit Tags
- Edit Package Tags
Create tags for commonly stocked items
Create tags that represent types of inventory that you might stock in a given room.
- Go to Products > Configure.
- Select the Tags tab.
- Click Add tag.
- Enter a Tag name. This could be a general product type like Edibles, something more specific like Display Case Cartridges, a pricing tier descriptor like Premium Flower, or any other category or keyword that makes sense for your operations.
- Click Save.
Assign tags to packages
Once you’ve created tags, assign them to packages:
- Go to Products > Inventory.
- Use the checkboxes to select packages.
- Select Bulk actions > Edit tags.
- Select one or more tags to assign to the selected packages.
You can also assign tags when receiving inventory:

Create a packing list based on tags
A packing list represents how you typically allocate inventory for restocking.
- Go to Products Configure.
- Select the Packing lists tab.
- Click Add list.
- Enter a List name and click Add item to add to the packing list. Select tags and enter a quantity for each tag.
- Click Save.
Use a packing list to restock a room
Once you have set up tags and packing lists, you are ready to allocate and move inventory to different rooms.
- Go to Products Inventory.
- Click the Actions dropdown and select Restock room.
- Select a Packing list.
- Select which rooms you want to move inventory from and to. You can also move inventory into a subroom if applicable.
- Scan packages and enter a quantity from each package.
- The Status column indicates
- Green check: Proper inventory quantities allocated
- Yellow caution: Not enough inventory available; threshold not met
- Red error: Too much inventory; threshold exceeded.
- Click Restock.
