I need help finding my discount usage and performance reports

Use this article to locate and interpret discount usage and performance data within the Dutchie POS Backoffice reporting suite.

What is the issue?

Dispensary operators need to evaluate the effectiveness of their promotional strategies but may not know where to find the specific breakdown of discount data. This involves identifying which discounts are being used, their total value, and their impact on overall revenue.

What's causing the issue?

Discount and promotion data lives across multiple areas of the Dutchie POS Backoffice reporting suite. Users may be unsure which report category or static report contains the granular discount data they need for analysis.

Note: Reports reflect completed transactions. A newly created discount will only appear in reports after it has been applied to and processed in at least one transaction.

Reports > Sales > Reports tab

Permission required: View Sales Reports

The Sales category contains static, exportable reports that include discount-level detail. Key reports to look for:

  • Sales Summary and Transaction Detail reports include Discounted Amount as a column
  • Use the available date and location selectors to narrow your data.
    • Once a report is run, you can sort and filter by columns such as Payment Type, Register, or Employee within the report results
  • Click Export to download the report for external analysis

Reports > Employee > Performance tab

Permission required: View Employee Reports

The Budtender Leaderboard includes a Discounted Amount column per budtender, allowing you to see which employees are applying the most discounts. This is useful for identifying discount overuse by individual staff members.

  • Select a date range and location(s)
  • Sort or review the Discounted Amount column
  • Click a budtender's name for their individual overview

Reports > Closing Report

Permission required: View Closing Report

The Closing Report includes a Discounted Transactions tab that shows all discounted orders for a given date range and location. This is useful for end-of-day reconciliation of promotional activity.
