Extend the advance ordering window up to 45 days in Dutchie E-Commerce

This article explains how to configure a longer advance ordering window for pickup orders in Dutchie E-Commerce.

The advance ordering window is configurable beyond the previous 6-day limit, up to a maximum of 45 days. This lets consumers schedule pickup orders further out directly through checkout, without requiring manual intervention, and gives retailers with infrequent pickup or delivery routes a way to accurately reflect their real availability online.

Before you begin

  • Setting a very long window with short time increments can generate a large number of available slots, which may affect checkout performance.

Set the advanced ordering window

  1. In Dutchie E-Commerce Admin, go to Settings > Ordering > Scheduled Ordering > In-store pickup or  Delivery > Advanced Ordering

  2. Select the number of days in advance that consumers can schedule an order, up to a maximum of 45 days.
  3. Save and publish your changes.

Sparse scheduling with Special Hours

If your PPU or delivery route is serviced only once every few weeks, you can set your regular store hours to closed and use Special Hours to open specific dates instead, such as the fourth Sunday of every month. This lets you represent an infrequent schedule accurately without affecting your default hours.

Performance safeguards

If your combination of ordering window and time increments would generate an excessive number of available slots (for example, more than 500) you will see a warning banner. Review your time slot length and window size if you see this warning, since a large number of slots can affect checkout performance.
