Please Note: There is a difference between Dutchie Connect Brands and Brands in Dutchie POS Backofffice.
Dutchie Connect is accessed via connect.dutchie.com. Connect empowers brands to upload and maintain product information, images, and descriptions, which merchandise across hundreds of retailers.
Brands in Dutchie POS Backoffice is found via Dutchie POS Backoffice Products Brands. It helps user access brands their dispensary comes in contact with. Brands can be assigned to products, printed on labels, or used to manage discounts. Use Brands to add new brands, edit and delete brands, and search for brands in your network.
This article explains how to manage brands in Dutchie Backoffice and understand the Dutchie Verified badge, and it applies to Dutchie Point of Sale.
Brands in Dutchie POS help you organize and present the products your dispensary carries. From the Brands page in Dutchie Backoffice, you can add, edit, delete, and search for the brands your dispensary comes in contact with. Once a brand exists in your catalog, you can assign it to products, print it on labels, or use it to manage discounts.
Separately, Dutchie maintains a global Brands Catalog that brand owners manage directly through Dutchie Connect (accessed via connect.dutchie.com). When Dutchie matches a brand in your store to a verified entry in that global catalog, your Back Office displays a Dutchie Verified badge next to the brand. That badge is the connection point between the information a brand owner maintains once in Dutchie Connect and what your staff and consumers see across your point of sale, your Back Office, and your online menu.
For a Dispensary Manager or General Manager, this means less manual upkeep of brand details and greater confidence that product information is accurate. For an Inventory Specialist, it means a consistent way to assign brands to products for labeling and discounting. For a Marketing Director or Manager, verified brand data supports a more polished and trustworthy online menu, since logos and descriptions stay consistent everywhere a customer encounters the brand.
Before you begin
- Brands in Dutchie POS Backoffice are distinct from Dutchie Connect. Dutchie Connect is where brand owners upload and maintain product information, images, and descriptions, which then merchandise across hundreds of retailers.
- You will find Brands in Dutchie Backoffice by going to Products > Brands.
- Deleted brands are not permanently removed. They become inactive, and you can view them by checking the Show inactive brands box.
- A brand only displays the Dutchie Verified badge after Dutchie confirms it matches a record in the global Brands Catalog. Adding a brand name in your Back Office does not automatically verify it.

Understand the Dutchie Verified badge
When Dutchie matches a brand in your store to a verified entry in the global Brands Catalog, the Dutchie Verified badge appears in three places in your Back Office:
- On the Brands list.
- On each brand's detail page.
- As a selection on the Product Details page.
Hovering over the badge shows the same message in all three locations: "This brand has been verified by Dutchie." Because the global Brands Catalog is the same source of truth used across your POS, your Back Office, your online menu, and Dutchie Connect, the badge tells you that brand's information is consistent everywhere a customer might encounter it.
On the global brands list, you will also see two related fields:
- Display name: the brand name shown at the register. This is your store's own local label and can differ from what the global catalog calls the brand.
- Associated Global Brand: the global brand entry that determines how brand information displays on Dutchie E-Commerce menus.
When a brand isn't verified yet
If a brand in your store has not been matched to the global Brands Catalog, Back Office gives you three paths forward, depending on the situation.
Register a brand you own
If you carry your own private label or exclusive brand, submit it for verification through Register a brand you own. The form collects the following information, and each field maps to where it will appear on your online menu:
- Brand name
- Website
- Logo, which displays on brand cards and product detail pages
- Contact email
- Description, which displays in the "About the Brand" section on product detail pages
- The states where your products are available
Recommend a brand
If you carry a brand that has not yet joined Dutchie Connect, use Recommend a brand. Add the brand name, website, and a contact email that Dutchie's team can use to reach the brand.
Report a brand correction
If a verified brand has incorrect information, such as a wrong logo, a stale description, or missing states, flag it through Report Brand Correction. You do not need to unlink the brand or lose its verified status to do this. Describe the issue as specifically as possible, for example a wrong logo or an incorrect description. The more specific your description, the faster the team can act on it.
Troubleshooting
Q: I added a brand in Back Office, but it doesn't show the Dutchie Verified badge. Why not?
A: Adding a brand name in your Back Office creates a local entry only. The badge appears only after Dutchie confirms that brand matches a record in the global Brands Catalog. If the brand is your own private label, submit it through Register a brand you own. If it belongs to another company, use Recommend a brand.
Q: A verified brand on my Product Details page has the wrong logo. Should I unlink it to fix this?
A: No. Unlinking the brand removes its verified status. Use Report Brand Correction instead, and describe the issue, such as the incorrect logo, as specifically as possible.
Q: I deleted a brand, but I still see it when I search. What happened?
A: Deleted brands become inactive rather than being permanently removed. Check the Show inactive brands box on the Brands page to confirm whether the brand you deleted is listed there.
Q: What is the difference between the Display name and the Associated Global Brand?
A: The Display name is your store's own local label for the brand, shown at the register. The Associated Global Brand is the global catalog entry that controls how the brand's information appears on your Dutchie E-Commerce menu. These two names can differ.
