Set up your Register terminal and connect peripherals

Before turning on your Register terminal and signing in for the first time, connect peripherals such as receipt printers, label printers, scales, and scanners.

This article applies to Dutchie Register terminal devices like the one pictured below.

Before you begin

You will need:

  • Up to 4 available power outlets.
  • An Internet connection, ideally wired with an Ethernet cable.
  • A Phillips-head screwdriver.
  • Your Dutchie Register terminal, peripherals, and included cables.

Setup steps

  1. Tilt the Register terminal screen fully up and carefully lay the Register terminal on its back. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw beneath the monitor, then remove the cover to access the input ports.

  2. If you are using the recommended Ethernet connection, route the Ethernet cable through the cable management slot at the base of the terminal and behind the clip.
  3. Connect the Ethernet cable to the terminal, but don't connect the power cable yet.

  4. Connect your peripherals to the Register terminal.
     
  5. Route the Register terminal power cable through the cable management slot and under the clip, then connect it to the power port.
  6. Connect the power cable to an outlet and start up the Register terminal.
