Enable after-hours ordering in Dutchie E-Commerce

After-hours ordering in Dutchie E-Commerce enables your customers to place orders while your store is closed for pickup or delivery next business day. Learn how to set it up in this article.

Things to know

  • To set up after-hours ordering, you need to enable scheduled ordering first.
  • After-hours orders will accumulate overnight, and you'll see a group confirmation on the terminal and in the Orders page allowing you to confirm all of the orders at once.

Enable After Hours ordering

  1. In Dutchie E-Commerce, go to Settings > Ordering.
  2. Toggle After Hours Ordering to Enabled.

Customer experience when After Hours Ordering is enabled

When After Hours Ordering is enabled:

  • On the menu, the text in the Hours and more box changes to Closed, available for pre-order.
  • A popup notification will alert customers when they add items to their cart that the store is closed and will display the next available pick-up and delivery hours.
  • At checkout, customers will see a Time section that indicates the store is currently closed, but the customer can place the order for pickup during the store's next operating hours.
  • If you have enabled Scheduled Ordering to allow for after-hours delivery orders, your customers will be prompted to select a delivery timeframe.
  • Customers will receive a text message notification indicating the order is confirmed and the scheduled pickup or delivery time.
