Questions to ask when configuring deliveries and scheduled ordering
What hours will orders be out for delivery?
Configuration: Delivery Hours
The Delivery Hours should only be set within hours when orders will be actively out for delivery.

Do the drivers return to the shop between delivering to each zone?
Configuration: Time Slots
If yes, the time slots should be shorter than the Delivery Hours.
If no, the time slots should match the Delivery Hours.

Do you want to allow customers to place delivery orders for today, or require them to schedule deliveries at least one day in advance?
Configuration: Same Day Deliveries
If yes, go to Settings > Ordering > Delivery. Select Options next to Scheduled Ordering, and enable the toggle for Same Day Deliveries.
If no, disable this option. This also disables ASAP Ordering and makes Order Limits unavailable for the current day. The soonest available time slots customers can choose for delivery orders will be your next business day.

How long before the driver leaves should the ordering stop for that zone? When should the same-day ordering end for each zone?
Configuration: Next Available Time
A helpful tip to explain this setting: this is the buffer before the start of the time slot where ordering for that time slot will be closed.
Will drivers be delivering to all zones at the same time?
Configuration: Delivery Schedule
If yes, all of the time slots for all of the zones should be active (toggled green).
If no, toggle inactive (red) any time slots that will not be delivered to by zone.
Once same-day ordering has ended, would you like the customer to be able to order for the next day or a number of days in advance?
Configuration: After Hours Ordering
If yes, enable After Hours Ordering.
If no, confirm that After Hours Ordering is disabled.
Would you like customers to be able to place for a number of days in advance? How many days in advance would you like customers to be able to order?
With after-hours ordering enabled, this will be for any order beyond next-day ordering.
Configuration: Advanced Ordering
If yes, enable Advanced Ordering and set the number of days to the desired number.
If no, confirm that Advanced Ordering is disabled.
Would you like to limit the number of orders per delivery time slot?
Configuration: Order Limits
If yes, we should set order limits to the set number of deliveries they can accept for each time slot.
If no, no action is needed.

Examples configurations
Example configuration 1
An admin would like to set up delivery ordering to meet the following requirements:
- Delivery orders go out between 2 and 6 pm.
- Orders placed before 1 pm will be delivered by 4 pm.
- Orders placed before 3 pm will be delivered by 6 pm.
- After 3 pm, orders can be placed for the following day.
- In the Settings Hours tab, make sure the Ordering hours for Delivery are set to the hours when delivery orders leave the store and are delivered. In this example, 2 pm-6 pm.
- In the Settings Ordering tab, go to Delivery.
- Make sure the box is checked for Scheduled ordering.
- Click Options.
- The requirements are a 4-hour window with 2 timeslots, so for Time Slot, select 2 hours each.
- For Next Available Time, select 60 minutes. This means that an hour before the time slot starts, ordering will end.
- Enable Advanced ordering.
- Enable order limits. You will see that you have 2 time slots for each day.
- Enable after-hours orders.
Example configuration 2
All orders placed before 5 pm will be delivered on the same day, between 6-8 pm. All orders placed after 5 pm will be delivered the following day between 6-8 pm.
- In the Settings Hours tab, make sure the Ordering hours for Delivery are set to the hours when delivery orders leave the store and are delivered. In this example, 6 pm-8 pm.
- In the Settings Ordering tab, go to Delivery.
- Make sure the box is checked for Scheduled ordering.
- Click Options.
- The delivery window is 2 hours 6-8 pm, so for Time Slot, select 2 hours each.
- For Next Available Time, select 60 minutes. This means that an hour before the time slot starts, ordering will end.
- Enable Advanced ordering.
- Enable order limits. You will see that you have a time slot for each day.
- Enable after-hours orders.
Example configuration 3
Same-day ordering ends at 3 pm. All orders leave the shop for Delivery at 5 pm. Deliveries should all be delivered by 8 pm.
- In the Settings Hours tab, make sure the Ordering hours for Delivery are set to the hours when delivery orders leave the store and are delivered. In this example, 5 pm-8 pm.
- In the Settings Ordering tab, go to Delivery.
- Make sure the box is checked for Scheduled ordering.
- Click Options.
- The delivery window is 3 hours 5-8 pm, so for Time Slot, select 3 hours each.
- For Next Available Time, select 120 minutes. This means that ordering will end 2 hours before the time slot starts, so at 3 pm.
- Enable Advanced ordering.
Example configuration 4
Admin only wants one delivery time slot a day. Delivery orders don't go out at a specific time, but the delivery driver works from 9 am - 2 pm.
- In the Settings Hours tab, make sure the Ordering hours for Delivery are set to the hours when delivery orders leave the store and are delivered. In this example, 9 am-2 pm.
- In the Settings Ordering tab, go to Delivery.
- Make sure the box is checked for Scheduled ordering.
- Click Options.
- The delivery window is 5 hours 9am-2pm, so for Time Slot, select 5 hours each.
- For Next Available Time, select 5 minutes.
- Enable Order Limits.
- Enable After-hours ordering.
