Brand Portal is now Connect
We've renamed Brand Portal to Connect. It's the same product you know and love, just with a new name.
We're currently updating our help center articles and screenshots to reflect this change. Thank you for your patience as we work through the updates!
Learn how to use the Import function, by uploading a CSV, to add multiple products at one time.
Things to know
-
If a Connect user has multiple brands on their account (due to having a parent brand with child brands nested under it), they must first use the selector button located in the upper right-hand corner of the page to select the brand whose products they want to import products for.
- Once they have correctly set their brand view, product imports will be uploaded to that selected brand.
- Each CSV upload supports only one Brand at a time. If you manage multiple Brands, you must upload a separate spreadsheet for each.
- You must use the Dutchie Brand Template as a CSV file, or you will encounter errors.
- Our template has data validation built in, so you can select the appropriate values to easily fill in your product information. Values on the CSV sheet must match spelling and capitalization as exactly provided on the template to avoid errors.
- This tool should only be used to add new products, and will not check for potential duplicates or edit existing products.
- To modify products in bulk, you should export products rather than use the Import CSV because you need the ID column (which only exists for existing products). See the “Update products in bulk” article here.
Dutchie Connect template
We've prepared a comprehensive template Dutchie ConnectTemplate - Read Only which includes data validation in the rows and columns. The data validation helps avoid errors, such as entering a subcategory that our system does not recognize.
- Make a copy of the Dutchie Connect Template - Read Only, and save each tab as a new CSV to import.
- Click File > Make a Copy to begin.
Prepare your CSV for bulk upload to Dutchie Connect
You'll need to prepare your .CSV. with your product information before upload.
Tip: Each product SKU that you carry should have a separate Product record for every market where it's sold. For example, if you sell the same strawberry edible SKU in 10 states, create 10 catalog records—one for each state.
- Make a copy of the CSV bulk upload template (Clicking link opens Google Sheet).
- Add product details and new image links. See CSV Field Guidance for details about each field using the guidance below. All required fields must be completed.
- Once the fields are completed, save each tab as a CSV. Each completed tab in the template (one per category) must be downloaded as a separate CSV for import.
- Click File > Download > CSV for each tab.
- Delete empty rows from the file.
- After removing empty rows, save your file as a new CSV.
- Import your CSV.

| Field | New Description |
| Product Name |
Product names do not need to include the brand name as the two will always show near each other on menus and both fields will return in a search query by a customer. If the product comes in multiple sizes or weights, please list them separately and add a differentiating aspect to the naming convention. Flower product names should just be the name of the strain, without weights
Pre-Roll, Vaporizer, and Concentrate product names must include weights. Multi-packs should also include pack sizes.
Edible & Tincture product names should include total THC potency.
|
| Brand Name |
Important: Brands should be entered onto the CSV exactly as they appear in the Connect admin. Tip: Navigate to Settings > Brands to copy your brand name exactly. You can also copy your Brand name from an existing product in your catalog. |
| State/Province |
Select the state from the dropdown list.
States and provinces should be denoted using postal abbreviations. e.g. CA, OR, AB, NY, etc |
| Description | This space is for your product description and there is no character limit |
| Category | The Category is pre-selected for you when you use the CSV template to reduce errors when importing. |
| Subcategory | Use the dropdown list from the Dutchie Connect Template to ensure you are using proper values that the system will accept. |
| Type |
This field represents the type of cannabis product. It is important to select one of these so that when users filter on a menu by type, your product is included. Tip: Use the template and these values will be in the included dropdown list.
|
| Image |
Image file format should be PNG or JPEG in a 1:1 ratio. Max file size is 20MB. There are no pixel size limits so please feel free to include the highest resolution available. We recommend images on a white or transparent background for a clean aesthetic.

Import your CSV Template
- After filling in your product details, it’s time to import your file.
-
Reminder: save each tab as a CSV.
- Click File > Download > CSV for each tab you want to import
- In your new file, delete empty rows. (empty rows appear as failed imports)
- After removing empty rows, save your file as a new CSV
- Now you’re ready to import
- Navigate to Catalog > Products, then click the Import button
- While importing your file, you can see the progress of your upload as it imports.
- Data validation exists in the uploaders - for example, rows without images, descriptions, or product names will fail and you won’t be able to upload the product in that given row. Downloading the “Failed row” report will tell you how to fix your errors.
- For successful product imports, these rows will be added to the catalog immediately.
Correct errors after bulk upload
Once the upload is complete, the pop-up will display the number of products that were added and whether or not any rows contained errors. View a list of errors and how to correct them.
- Remove any rows with products that were accepted during the initial upload. If you do not remove these, they will be duplicated when you reattempt your upload.
- Correct the errors in the products that do not upload successfully, and save your file.
- Re-import the file.
- Tip: Exporting the “Download Errors” file will only download products that had errors, and not any of your successful Product rows.
View your Import History
The Import History tab will show import files that are In Progress, Completed and Failed at the file level. You can click into each Import to see which rows were successful or failed. If a file had any rows fail, the status will be “Failed” however you can see how many products were successfully added via the “Successes” column of the grid.
