I need help fixing delivery manifests

Use this article to create, manage, and troubleshoot Dutchie POS delivery manifests, including assigning drivers, reordering stops, and ensuring state compliance submissions.

What is the issue?

Delivery manifests are required legal documents that group delivery orders into a single run for a specific driver and vehicle. You may need help navigating the manifest management screens to create new manifests, assign drivers and vehicles, reorder stops, or ensure state-mandated details are included before dispatching.

Please note: in certain states the traceability manifest is required.

What’s causing the issue?

Common challenges include:

  • Needing to reassign orders between manifests
  • Updating the status of a delivery run
  •  Ensuring the manifest includes state-mandated details (product quantities, customer information, vehicle data)
  • Missing compliance system submission (Metrc, BioTrack, CCRS) before finalizing the manifest

Before you start

How do I solve the issue?

  1. Log in to the Dutchie POS Backoffice.
  2. Navigate to Products > Manifests.
  3. To create a new manifest, select the delivery order shipments you wish to include. Retail delivery manifests are created from specific delivery orders/shipments tied to invoice numbers.

Note: The Delivery > Configure section is where you manage Cars, Drivers, Zones, and Thresholds, not manifests themselves. Driver and vehicle assignment can also be done from the POS Register via the Delivery Options modal.

Tip: For routes with multiple delivery stops, you can create a Multi-Stop Manifest, which groups multiple shipments under a single route.

  1. Assign a driver and a vehicle (Car) to the manifest.
    • The system supports up to 2 drivers by default
    • Both the driver and vehicle are required fields.
  2. To change the sequence of deliveries, select the stops and reorder them.
  3. To move an order to a different manifest, you may need to remove the shipment from one manifest and add it to another as separate steps. There is no single "move" action between manifests.
  4. Submit to your state compliance system. Before the manifest can be finalized and printed, it must be validated and submitted to your integrated state system (Metrc, BioTrack, or CCRS, depending on your state). The system will run a check and submit to the compliance system automatically when you complete the manifest.
  5. Click Print to generate the manifest document for the driver's reference and state compliance.
    • Print options include individual manifest, route manifest, and multi-stop manifest formats.
    • Or navigate to your state traceability system and print the manifest from there (required in some states)
  6. Monitor the manifest status by checking the delivery status indicators on the management screen.
