Pay by Bank: Linked Bank Account Indicator

Pay by Bank: Linked Bank Account Indicator

A clearer, more prominent indicator — now with the customer's bank name

The Pay by Bank linked bank account indicator on the register has been updated. Previously, a small checkmark (✓) appeared if a customer had a linked Pay by Bank account — but it didn't show the bank name and was easy to miss. The indicator has moved to a more prominent position on the payment screen and now displays the customer's bank name. When you see ✓ Bank linked and a bank name, you know the customer is ready — use it as your cue to suggest Pay by Bank with confidence.

The payment screen now has a clearer, more prominent indicator. Here's how the two states look.

Updated — Customer has a linked bank account

Previous — Checkmark only, no bank name shown

You see: ✓ Bank linked + bank name (updated indicator)
Customer has Pay by Bank set up and a bank account linked

This customer is ready to go. Suggest Pay by Bank confidently — they don't need to set anything up.

"I can see your bank is already linked — want to use Pay by Bank today? It's fast and there's no card needed."
  1. Select Pay by Bank on the payment screen
  2. Complete the transaction as normal

Customer has no linked bank account, or no Pay by Bank account

If the line is short, this is a good moment to help them get set up for next time.

"It looks like you haven't linked a bank yet — it only takes a minute and you won't need your card next time. Want to get that set up?"

If it's busy, take payment another way and move on — no pressure.

Remember: The indicator appears automatically — you don't need to do anything to trigger it. The checkout steps are exactly the same as before. If you previously used the checkmark as your cue, the new indicator works the same way — just more visible and now includes the bank name.

Pay by Bank is set up based on the customer's email address and their E-Commerce profile. If the bank shown doesn't match what the customer expects, there are two scenarios — each with a different fix:

The email is correct, but the customer wants to change which bank account is linked to it. The customer can update this themselves — direct them to their Pay by Bank account settings.

Account Settings →

The wrong email address is linked to the customer's register profile and they want to link a different one. The budtender can fix this directly at the register.

Re-link Account →

This table will be updated as each phase goes live.
