Learn about how to complete a transaction with a variety of payment types in Dutchie POS.
In addition to cash, you may have other payment methods available on your registers, including Pay by Bank, gift cards, checks, and other third-party payment solutions. You can also split payment across multiple payment methods.
When you're ready to complete a transaction, click Checkout and choose a payment method.
The options shown are customized for each location and may vary from the examples below. Contact Dutchie POS support to configure or change your available payment methods.
Cash
When accepting cash payments, you can:
- Enter a specific amount and click Add.
- Click Exact Cash.
- Click the $20, $40, $60, or $100 buttons.
Click Pay to finish the transaction.
Debit
If you accept debit card payments through a non-integrated third-party debit provider, process the payment outside of Dutchie POS on your payment provider's external terminal, then use the Debit button to record the payment in Dutchie POS for reporting purposes.
This option allows you to tender an amount greater than the order total and provide cash back to your customers if requested.
Depending on your configuration, the Debit button may be greyed out and unavailable for transactions over a certain amount.
Manual
If you accept other payments through a non-integrated third-party processor, process the payment outside of Dutchie POS on your payment provider's external terminal, then use the Manual button to record the payment in Dutchie POS for reporting purposes. Contact Dutchie Support to have manual non-integrated processors enabled for your location.
- After selecting the Manual button, enter the payment amount. This can be the full order total or a partial amount.
- If you have multiple options for Non-Integrated processor, select one.
- Click Add.
- When you're finished adding payments, click Pay.
Dutchie Hub/Pay by Bank
Use the Dutchie Hub button to process payments with Dutchie's cashless digital payments solutions. Learn more about Pay by Bank on Hub here.
Credit (Canada only)
Use the Credit button to process non-integrated credit card payments in Canada.
MMAP
Learn more about accepting MMAP payments in applicable markets.
Digital
Use the Digital button to process payments through CanPay or POSaBit Pay (formerly Hypur):
- After selecting the Digital button, enter the payment amount. This can be the full order total or a partial amount.
- From the Payment Gateway dropdown, select CanPay or Hypur.
- Click Add.
- For CanPay, you'll be prompted to enter a Client CanPay Token or you can scan the customer's QR code.
- For Hypur, you'll be prompted to select from the Hypur Client List.
- When you're finished, click Pay.
Note: Depending on your configuration, you may instead need to process CanPay or Hypur payments with the Manual payment button.
Check
Click Check and enter the amount. When you're finished, click Pay.
Gift Card
Dutchie POS offers semi-integrated Gift Card payments through Birchmount. Learn more.
If you use non-integrated gift cards or gift certificates, click Gift Card and enter the amount being tendered.
When you're finished, click Pay.
Loyalty
If the Apply loyalty as cash value setting is enabled for your location, you can apply a customer's loyalty points as a payment method. Learn more.
Split payment
You can also split payments across multiple payment methods.
Dutchie Hub only supports split payments via the Pay by Bank on Dutchie Hub workflow.
- Choose the first payment method.
- Enter or choose an amount that is less than the Order Total.
- Repeat with other payment methods until there is no Remaining amount.
- Click Pay to finish the transaction.
Remove payment
You can remove any payment by clicking the trash icon next to the payment.
