This article explains how the Store Menu, Checkout, and Advanced Options settings pages work in the Dutchie E-Commerce Admin.
The Store Menu, Checkout, and Advanced Options pages in the Dutchie E-Commerce Admin let you control how your menu displays to consumers, how checkout behaves, and other store-level configuration. Settings are organized into titled, searchable cards with always-visible descriptions, so you can find and understand a setting without hovering over it or scanning a long list.
From these pages you can also copy settings across locations.
If you manage many settings across multiple pages, this layout helps you locate a specific setting quickly and understand what it does before you change it.
A Warning badge also flags settings that carry compliance or purchase-limit implications, so you can identify higher-risk settings before making changes.
Before you begin
- The search box on each page filters settings by matching text in the setting's label or description only. It does not search other fields.
- If a search filter hides a setting, that setting's saved value is not affected. Hidden settings remain registered in the background and are preserved when you save the page.
- Changing how a setting displays or is organized does not change what the setting does, how it is saved, or which fields it writes to.
Store Menu and Checkout settings
Settings on the Store Menu and Checkout pages are organized into titled cards, such as Product Display or Payments & Tips, rather than a single continuous list.
-
Search: A search box at the top of each page filters settings in real time by matching text in the setting's label or description.
-
Descriptions: Every setting displays its explanatory text directly beneath its toggle. You do not need to hover over a setting to see what it does.
-
Warning badge: A Warning badge appears next to settings that carry a compliance risk or could have a destructive effect, such as bypassing state purchase limits or disabling guest checkout requirements. Review any setting with this badge carefully before you change it.
Advanced Options settings
The Advanced Options page uses the same card layout and search box as Store Menu and Checkout. Each section on the page is wrapped in a searchable card.
The individual settings inside those cards use the older row style rather than the updated row style found on Store Menu and Checkout, due to the complexity of the business logic on this page. A more comprehensive redesign of Advanced Options to match the other two pages is planned for a future update.
Copy settings across locations
You can copy many settings across locations. Hover over the setting, and look for the magnifying glass icon. When you click it, you'll see options to copy your settings across your locations.

Troubleshooting
Q: I searched for a setting and cannot find it in the results. Was it removed? A: No settings have been removed. Check that your search term matches text in the setting's label or description, since search only filters on those two fields.
Q: If I save the page while a search filter is hiding some settings, will those hidden settings reset or lose their values? A: No. Settings hidden by a search filter remain registered in the form in the background, so their values are preserved when you save.
Q: Why does the Advanced Options page look different from Store Menu and Checkout? A: The Advanced Options page uses the new card layout and search box, but its individual settings still use the older row style due to the complexity of the business logic on that page.
Q: Does reorganizing a settings page change what a setting actually does? A: No. The layout, search, and badging affect only how settings are displayed and organized. Setting behavior, save and dirty-tracking logic, and underlying field names are unchanged.
