This article covers the redesigned Store Menu, Checkout, and Advanced Options settings pages in the Dutchie E-Commerce Admin.
The Store Menu, Checkout, and Advanced Options settings pages in the Dutchie E-Commerce Admin previously displayed dozens of individual checkboxes in a single flat list, with explanatory text that only appeared on hover. We have resigned these pages to make it easier for our users to navigate.
The redesign reorganizes these pages into grouped, titled cards with always-visible descriptions, adds a search box so you can filter settings by name or description. , and introduces clearer visual badging for settings that carry risk or are restricted to internal use.
If you spend a lot of time managing many settings across multiple pages, this redesign will make it easier for you to understand what settings do and reduce the time you spend looking for specific settings and options.
The new Warning badge calls out settings with compliance or purchase-limit implications, such as bypassing state purchase limits or disabling guest checkout requirements, making those settings easier to identify before they are changed.
Before you begin
- Access to the Store Menu and Checkout settings pages requires the Store Settings permission.
- The redesign changes how settings are displayed and searched. It does not change what any individual setting does, how it is saved, or which fields it writes to.
What has changed?
Changes can be found in Dutchie E-Commerce Admin > Settings.
Grouped, searchable cards
Settings on the Store Menu and Checkout pages are now organized into titled cards (for example, Product Display or Payments & Tips) instead of one continuous list. A search box at the top of each page filters settings in real time by matching text in the setting's label or description.
Always-visible descriptions
Every setting now displays its explanatory text directly beneath the toggle. You no longer need to hover over a setting to see what it does.
Warning badges
A new badge now appears next to relevant settings:
- Warning badge: applied to settings that carry a compliance risk or could have a destructive effect, such as bypassing state purchase limits or disabling guest checkout requirements.
Advanced Options: a lighter redesign
The Advanced Options page received a smaller-scope update than Store Menu and Checkout. Each existing section on the page is now wrapped in a searchable card, and the same search box is available, but the individual settings inside those cards were not converted to the new row style. A more comprehensive redesign of Advanced Options to match Store Menu and Checkout is planned as a follow-up.
Troubleshooting
Q: I searched for a setting and cannot find it in the results. Did it get removed? A: No settings were removed as part of this redesign. Check that your search term matches text in the setting's label or description exactly, since the search only filters on those two fields.
Q: If I save the page while a search filter is hiding some settings, will those hidden settings reset or lose their values? A: No. Settings hidden by a search filter remain registered in the form in the background, so their values are preserved when you save.
Q: Why does the Advanced Options page look different from Store Menu and Checkout? A: Advanced Options received a lighter version of the redesign. It has the new card layout and search box, but its individual settings still use the older row style due to the complexity of the business logic on that page. A more complete redesign is planned for a future update.
Q: Did any setting change what it actually does? A: No. This update only changed how settings are displayed and organized. Setting behavior, save and dirty-tracking logic, and underlying field names are unchanged.
